Ladies v Stoke

This was our first game of the season. This was an away game at Stoke, played near the JCB factory. We played on grass.

This was a much improved Stoke side compared to last year. We controlled the game from the beginning till the end, but Stoke still gave us some stiff competition at times.

There were periods in the game where we allowed them to get at us and we were not as efficient as we should be with our defending or attack. However, in quarter four, we showed how we should be playing from beginning to end. There was a period of game where Stoke had the ball for 3 to 4 minutes around our goal and we defended very well, without conceding a goal.

Final score 19 – 7 for Timperley.

When we are sharp and focused we are lethal. We need to find a way of staying focused and sharp for the duration of the game. Overall a great performance and a great first game of the season.
