5th game of the season

At last a home game and the weather cleared for us to play on astro, which I think we all enjoyed after battling through the mud in recent games.
The girls warmed up well, which is always a good sign, and so it proved as they started the game quickly and strongly. There were a lot of strong individual performances in the first half in particular; the whole team had a great first half with plenty of possession, some good passing and the girls worked hard all over the pitch to track back and defend. Oh and we got a few goals too (sorry I can’t remember how many!).
Thanks to our big squad, there was a lot of change to the team at half-time. The goals continued to flow, but we struggled a bit for rhythm in our passing, and upset the opposition coach with powerful shooting from short range, where instead precision is required.
We have tougher games ahead, but I’m sure that all of the girls will keep up the hard work and the standard of their play. We will continue to work on many aspects of the game in training (stick skills as always, crisp passing, defending with the right body position, ground balls, and shooting).
In summary, the girls were great, as they have been all season, and they ran-out winners by 24 to 2.
