Timperley 10-0 Poynton

Today we put in a solid performance to beat a good Poynton team in the second round of the cup. I firmly believe that if the defence plays as well for the rest of the season as it did today we will get some measure of success this year. Poynton played a lot better than their nil score would indicate, but Timperley were well worth their first shut out of the season.

The offence never really cut loose today, their task made harder by the frozen pitch which meant dodging was somewhat hazardous for most of the game. They stuck to it and scored at regular intervals, but it was only in the last 20 minutes that we got to be ahead by a comfortable margin.
