Despite conceding the opening goal, the boys did show good form leading 8-1 at the end of the first quarter.
Quarter 2 saw less goals but some strong defensive play with Conor making the check of the game. Also in D, Grady showed good skill, often winning the ball and getting it up field. Q2 score 13-1.
Q3 saw James in goal grow in confidence with some good saves that, along with his whole match form, meant he was man of the match.
Q3 saw the Timperley lead increase to 18 to Rochdale's 1. Charlie & Josh P also showed determined defensive play.
Unfortunately, Rochdale pulled 2 goals back in the final quarter but Timperley added 4 to make the final score 22 - 3.
Goals:
Alex Winton 4
Nathan Walker 2
Tim Nicol 3
Joe Harris 2
Pick Sant 3
Lucas Almond 2
Josh Blower 2
Simon Briggs 1
James Hackett 3
So some genuinely good play - couple of comments - we were too slow when we were 'man up' - we should exploit this situation more effectiveley than we did. And on the same theme - general play on the break should have been quicker - we seemed to hesitate too much. We were also caught out off side too many times, other than that - good game good game!
