Things look promising for next season already as a young Timperley side played a good solid game in a friendly against Stockport. It was a match played in a good spirit from both teams.
Timperley played some good team lacrosse, particularly going forward, aided by some strong running from midfield and some sharp shooting.
Our all-round play was good with improving stick skills, and the defence played well as individuals, but there is some work to be done on the training ground as a collective.
We were in the lead from the beginning and never troubled, although Stockport have some good players too and never gave up, finishing the game particularly strongly.
I must admit I lost count and in the rush to let the hockey players onto the pitch didn’t check with the ref, but I’m guessing it finished 14-7 to Timperley.
